The Chestnuts honey is produced between the end of June and the first half of July from blooms of wild chestnut trees, of which the Vesuvius area is very rich. It is a liquid honey extraordinarily versatile, amber color, sometimes strong with reddish hues, the nose is aromatic and pungent, strongly vegetable, with a typical “slightly bitter” and tannic flavor. Together with ricotta gives a very pleasant combination.
